Kapwa House

Kapwa House is a yoga brand rooted deep in culture. Owned by Iza Narag, a Seattle based yoga teacher, Kapwa House exists to provide experiences that nourish more than just the body. Iza understands that the industry is heavily influenced by western society and seeks to provide a space that stays true to yoga's Sanskrit roots. It was my mission to deliver a website that reflected the mission of Kapwa.

The Challenge

The owner of Kapwa House needed a way to host her retreats and let potential clients know what their brand and style was all about. They weren't sure if they wanted to host all of their classes along with their retreats or take on future client on the website.

The Process

Discovery

I began with a simple survey and asking questions about their practice, what Kapwa House means to them, and any websites they found inspiration in. I also dove into potential third party applications and tools that were within scope and budget that could help elevate her business.

Design

I began designing within Figma and bringing our ideas to life. The branding was in develop by a third party which was a small barrier. Once we received all materials, I was finally able to piece together the high-fi design for our client to see.

Delivery

After the site was built, I showed the client how they can navigate Webflow and make adjustment to their website. More importantly, how they can create new events within their CMS pages and update existing ones.

The Solution

The solution was not to go to broad and to narrow the website in first. Her main issue and core focus at the moment are retreats. She needs a consistent place to show future and past retreats and we delivered just that.

The Outcome

I learned a lot with this website, especially with it being my first client with freelancing. Each step was full of learning and not only guiding the client but also myself through the process. In the end both the client and I were very satisfied with the result and have agreed that this will be an ongoing collaboration!
